S.Shanmugam started to learn Therukoothu and folk Drama from his father Singaravelu Naicker and Dhakshina Moorthy Guru. From the beginning he acted female roles in folk drama, after he acted male characters. He participated many Government and other institutions festivals to perform, he went to perform TheruKoothu in Kuwait also he perform cultural Heritage centres like sowbhoomi Calcutta and Dhakshin Chitra Chennai, Hyderabad University. He always help the folk performers to get the benefits from the department of culture.

Vision:
Promoting traditional folk and ritual theatre form Theru koothu/Folk Drama.

Mission:
Under taking of action-oriented area specific, people centered, sustainable social development activity through the ritual theatre.

Objectives:
To Promote of Social Awareness through our folk media.
To save and promotion the media among the social awareness.
To teach and provided training courses to Artisans concerned all levels.
To Establishing as a Institution named CCDETT imparting teaching training and conducting folk festivals in the field of arts culture.
